027 : All About Birth w/ Doula & Birth Coach, Madison Brewer

Mama’s this is an episode for you!!! Today we have the HONOR of having Madison Brewer on the podcast and our hearts are so dang excited!!

  • Introduce Madison:

    • Madison is 27 years old and was born and raised in Piedmont, SC. She has been married to her truest and best friend Johnny for almost 5 years in July! They have two precious babies, Elle who is 3.5 and Junah 1.5. She is a wedding, family, lifestyle, birth, everythingg photographer AND now a fresh Doula or birth coach. Jesus saved her at 4 years old, but she didn’t start truly following Him until her sophomore year of high school. She is so in love with the Lord and has never been more confident in The Gospel of Jesus Christ. She says life with Him is pure joy and adventure. Let’s welcome Madison Brewer to the podcast as we get to know a little bit about her and her testimony on what the Lord has done in and through her life in the last two years..

    • fun fact - She has been taking Hebrew classes for about two years now!

  • Madison telling her story/Dialogue

    • Madison explains that she wanted to seek the lord’s face in what he wanted to do with her life when 2020 rolled around. And she knew that by doing this and praying big prayers, she would find her true identity in Christ.

    • She is obsessed with birth and had a friend ask her to photograph her birth and it was like a “holy hush.” While photographing, she watched the home birth and a team of doula’s and sweet people, and suddenly had the lord speak to her and she knew that through the birth, he was stirring something in her Heart. God later revealed that her journey was to be a doula and birth coach.

    • She decided to get certified and had her first birth as a doula and birth coach in February of 2022. The lord made it very evident through that experience that she was doing exactly what he wanted her to be.

  • What she does as a Birth Coach and what the process looks like

    • A doula does not replace an OB and is not a medical professional. In simple terms, a doula is there for support and coaching through the entire birth experience.

    • Madison lays the foundation by saying that if a mama is considering a birth coach, she would reach out to one or many and do a consultation to make sure they mesh well together.

    • In the process after knowing they mesh well together, the doula is there to educate and support the mom until the day of labor.

    • While in labor, a doula will physically, mentally, and emotionally support the mom and be as hands on or hands off as she needs to be. The goal is for the doula to be an asset to both mom and dad.

    • As a christian doula, Madison believes fully in being in a constant state of prayer during her births.

    • She wants to support women in postpartum as well.

  • Madison’s main goal

    • As a doula, She wants to educate and support women and help them to have more control, all while loving and praying for them and helping them to have the most beautiful experience possible.

  • Madison’s one piece of advice that she wants to leave people with

    • “we need to be in God’s word. It gives us faith, wisdom, and knowledge.”

    • She believes that, as women, we need to be engulfed in the word to have the wisdom that we need In every area of life.
