WHAT THE LORD TAUGHT US IN 2020 & WORDS FOR 2021!
Happy New Year!!!
Welllll….. I know it is almost February and we’re a little late to the party buttttt we know ya get it! :P I hope 2021 has been off to the best start ever!
2020 was tough. Can I get an amen?! What started with big dreams and goals turned into cancelled plans, quarantine, and those goals being wrecked. But with that said, there is something so beautiful that 2020 can teach us.
2020 TAUGHT US ::
His plan is far greater than our plan.
Sitting in a season of waiting serves a lot of purpose.
Purposely following the Lord’s will for your life will show you how present, faithful, and loving He truly is.
Surrounding yourself with people who truly care about you, love you, and encourage you in faith + love is more important than having a lot of okay friends.
Prayer is EVERYTHING. When you are praying fervently over something, the Lord will be faithful. It might take time. But He will show up and do far greater than you could imagine.
How to sit with uncertainty and to fully surrender it all at the feet of Jesus.
Each year, Kaitlin and I pray over our business and specific words that the Lord would allow us to cling to in the coming year. This year, one of mine and Kaitlin’s words individually and what we prayed over The Refined Creative is the word Present. With us both being business owners, wives, friends, and now new moms to be, being present is of the utmost priority to us moving forward. Being present allows us to appreciate the little things in life instead of worrying about the struggles tomorrow. We are not promised tomorrow. What we have is today. When we have a posture of being present, we won’t miss out on the goodness of God.

Tips for being more Present in your Life ::
Being present this year is something we encourage each and every one of you to think about. With that said, we have put together a list of ideas for cultivating more presence in your daily life.
1. Celebrate the small and big wins.
2. Don’t wish today away thinking about what is to come.
3. Listen without intending to respond.
4. Reduce Distractions
5. Journal. Reflect on your day and write it down for you to look back on.
6. Unplug. Turn your phone off and go for a walk, get coffee with a friend, go on a hike, etc.
So there you have it!! A little bit about our heart and what we are praying over 2021!
